I know my previous post about my paper is somewhat vague and I know now that we have to hand it in in our profolio, so I thought I'd make it better. This paper that I wrote is based on a true story about a good friend of mine. The names are of course aren't real, but the idea of the story is true. I thought that this would be a good topic to write on because it means a lot to me and I really thought I could write it well. The beginning is background about the family and where they live and their jobs and then the middle is just a fun event the family does together and the ending is the devasting part that can change everything.

Hey there again. Well I'm somewhat of an idiot because yet again i ALWAYS fail to remember to do my blogs. I hope this can still count as one because I am kind of stuck with the paper I have so far. I know that we can write about whatever we want, but for me thats challenging. I like when we are assigned a certain paper with certain criteria. The paper i have is shitty so Im thinking about just erasing it and starting a whole new one. I think i will write about something like the paper we did when we went out for 30 mintues. I tried to base that off of a James Patterson book and that was fun for me to write. So that's what I'm thinking about writing now!

The article "Numbing of the American Mind" by Thomas de Zengotita was an ironicly true statement our society. There is so many problems we face in our world dealing with the war, natural disasters, politics or other serious issues that we are numb to the reactions. Its very true that if we weren't personally affected by something then we have a less of a chance to rememeber that problem. "Numbing" mentions also that we confuse fabrication with reality. What is reallly real on tv? Most "reality" tv shows have some kind of twist and people still want to believe everything they see on tv is true. Things have changed over time that we are just overwhelmed with stuff going on in the media. Zengotita also suggests that we are flooded with information that we really can't retain it all and everything moves so fast around us that we are taken with it. This article in fact hit the nail on the head when it came to thinking about our society as a whole and how it has changed.

Hey there everyone! My name's Alexis Paez and I'm from Park Ridge, IL. It's a suberb right outside Chicago-and i swear it's like 15 minutes away from the city. I have one older sister who works at Depaul University and 2 amazing dogs, Rocky and Zuzu. My dad owns a mexican radio station in the city and my mom claims shes a teacher, even though she hasn't taught in about 6 years. I live in Ogg hall and I'm considering majoring in International Business, hopefully I'll make it into the school. I wasn't planning on going to Madison when I was applying for schools, then my dad made me visit it, and I fell in love. This school kicks any other school's ass and thats why I love it. :)
